This gift voucher is a physical voucher which will be posted to you. It contains a unique code, which when booking online will entitle the bearers (two adults) to attend a BIG Weekender experience. The recipient can redeem the voucher on any BIG Weekender with availability.
This weekend is very hands on, perfect for those wanting to become smallholders, are new to smallholding, or those that just want a different, active weekend learning new skills. You will experience a selection of smallholding tasks over the weekend, whether it be fencing, tending to the vegetable patch, mucking out, medicating livestock or collecting the eggs, the experiences are vast. You'll see our set up, meet the residents at Happy Valley, and are encouraged to ask as many questions as you like about all things smallholding! There is no classroom type content with the big weekender, it's all about experiencing the day to day tasks of the smallholder. This weekend is for two adults whom book and stay overnight together, therefore it is completely private. If there is any task or subject in particular you would like to cover, just let us know.
What better way to immerse yourselves into smallholding life than to stay here in our glamping bell tent, with its full size double bed and cosy finishing touches. Relax by the fire pit, cooking and eating in front of that spectacular view. There's also off grid bathroom facilities with toilet and warm shower. Ok, there's no hot tub, games room or mains electric, but with the Brecon Beacons designated dark sky zone just a stones throw away, the view by day and the stars by night make for an unforgettable experience. This overnight stay if at no extra cost (Saturday night only - Please contact us if you wish to explore the local area and extend your stay for £50 extra per night). If however, you prefer a few more creature comforts and would like the experience of a private weekend on the smallholding, without staying here, there are plenty of hotels and B&B's just a 15 minute drive, just let us know.
Your first day will start on Saturday at 10am and finish at 5pm. Your second day starts at 8.30am if you fancy joining us for the morning feeding routine. If you'd prefer a more leisurely approach, just let us know and we'll see you at 10am, again finishing at 5pm. Refreshments will be provided, however please bring packed lunches and any other camping equipment/food with you.
